This is the record of what changed in Madder and when. Each date is the day the change was finished. Madder is in closed early access, so every item describes the product that invited businesses use. Nothing here is a plan or a promise. What is not switched on yet is listed separately at the end.
October 2026#
7 October: the daily check-up judges the campaigns Madder creates
The daily check-up needs one daily budget to judge a campaign by. Until now that had to be the campaign's own budget. A campaign Madder creates keeps its budget on its single ad set, so the check-up listed those campaigns and left them alone. From this date it judges them too, and a budget change you ask for in chat works on them as well. A campaign that splits its budget over several ad sets, or has one total budget for its whole run, is still listed and left alone.
Madder also now reads Meta's own confirmation after each change instead of assuming the change went through. A change that may already be live on Meta is never recorded as "nothing changed".
7 October: three more comparisons, three business pages, a facts page
The site gained comparisons with AdAdvisor, Zeely and AdStellar, pages for clothing, pet supplies and home goods shops, and a page of dated facts about Madder.
6 October: the daily check-up
Once a day, when you switch it on, Madder looks at each running campaign over its last seven settled days. A fixed set of rules, with no AI in it, first picks the campaigns where the numbers are clear. The agent may then suggest one change: a pause, or a budget change of 20% at most. On a quiet day it suggests nothing. The check-up starts switched off. See Autopilot for the conditions.
6 October: Autopilot gets its own limit for raises
Autopilot may raise a budget only when the raise comes from the daily check-up, and only inside two amounts you set: one for a single change and one for a whole day. They start at 20 and 50 in your ad account's currency. Creating a campaign, switching one back on and any larger raise still wait for your approval.
6 October: a bell that tells you what happened
Every page of the app now has a bell. It lists, in plain sentences, what Madder changed, what waits for your yes and what did not go through. Madder does not send email yet, so the bell is where you are told.
6 October: closed early access with a waitlist
Access is by invitation. You ask on the home page with your email and your shop's address, and the founder writes back.
6 October: guides, comparisons and a rebuilt home page
Twenty-four guides, comparisons and business pages were published at Guides, each with its sources and the day they were checked. The home page was rebuilt to work without scripts and to show several kinds of sample business.
5 October: Autopilot
Autopilot is a setting that starts switched off. With it on, Madder applies the budget cuts and pauses it would otherwise ask you about. What it may and may not apply is in Can an AI ads tool spend your money without asking?.
5 October: leads are counted from what you confirm
Madder shows a lead count and a cost per lead only from the actions you have confirmed as real enquiries or sales. Until you choose, it shows neither. See Deciding what counts as a lead.
5 October: help moved to madder.ai/help
The step-by-step help guides moved from the app's address to madder.ai/help. The old addresses redirect.
September 2026#
27 September: competitor research, first part
You can name a competitor, and Madder reads their landing page: what they offer and the price when the page states it. Reading their ads from Meta's public Ad Library and from Google's ads transparency data is built and not connected yet. The free way to look yourself is in How to see your competitors' ads.
27 September: privacy policy and early-access terms
Both were published in plain words. They say that Madder is run by its founder as an individual and that there is no company behind it yet.
22 September: switching a campaign on switches on everything in it
Madder creates a campaign paused, with its ad set and ads paused too. When you approve switching it on, Madder now switches on the ad set and the ads it created, so the campaign can start delivering without a trip to Ads Manager.
