Approve and launch

Approve moves a draft from pending to scheduled; Madder then applies it to the platform, still paused, and nothing spends before you press the button.

Checked 5 Oct 2026

One minute per approval.

Before you start#

  • A role with Approve spend: owner or admin. Operators and analysts see the button but cannot approve.

1. Find what needs your call#

The home screen section Needs your call lists every pending proposal with the platform, the ad account and the change. A drafted campaign shows Review → and sends you to the Campaigns page, where the Draft row's Review button expands it; other proposals show Approve in place.

2. Read the write-up#

On the draft card, open See Madder's full write-up. It covers the audience, placements and daily budget, written for you, not for an ad manager. If you asked for tracking help, the same write-up has the steps.

3. Work through Get it ready#

The Get it ready checklist has three items. Link ready is done by Madder — the ad sends people to your page; no form, no pixel needed. Add the Meta Pixel is optional; Set up tracking opens the wizard that creates the pixel for you. Add creatives is the images the ad shows: Upload creatives opens the Creatives page with this product picked, where you upload an image and press Approve; back on the draft the item reads Creatives ready with the count. See Creatives. None of the items locks the button — but approve the creative first: a campaign approved without one is created paused as an empty shell, and today the ad is added to it in Meta by hand.

4. Press Approve →#

What happens at that moment:

  1. Madder runs its gates: the workspace is active, the change is inside today's ceiling, the plan has not changed since you read it.
  2. Your membership is stamped on the proposal as the approver. The proposal goes from pending to scheduled.
  3. Madder's executor picks it up and makes the platform change. The campaign is created paused. The proposal is recorded as executed.

The toast reads Approved — Madder is creating it paused in Meta. Nothing spends until you switch it on. The row shows Approved, then Created · paused.

5. Paused, then resumed#

A created campaign starts paused. If the product had approved creatives when you approved, Madder created the ad set and the ad with them, paused too. To switch it on, press Resume → on the Created · paused row: Madder files a resume proposal and the row reads Resume requested — approve it under Needs your call on home. That second approval is the moment money moves. A campaign created before any creative existed has no ad; today you add one in Ads Manager, or ask us.

6. How to stop#

Pause directly in Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads or TikTok Ads Manager — Madder reads the change back on its next sync. When the agent proposes Pause campaign, it needs no ceiling check and is never refused for money reasons: one tap on the card and it is applied. Pausing keeps the audience, creatives and figures, so a later resume restores them.

Why some things wait for you#

A launch and a resume always need your call. Every budget change waits for your tap. Inside your per-action ceiling the tap is the only gate; above it the change is refused at approval and again at execution. A pause is never refused, but it waits for your tap like everything else. Madder can draft and analyse on its own because a draft spends nothing. The line is spend, not effort.

If it doesn't work#

  • Approve → says "Still finishing the draft" — the write-up is not saved yet. Wait a moment and press again.
  • "Not approved: authority exceeded" — the change is over today's ceiling. See Budgets.
  • "This proposal is not pending" — someone else already approved or cancelled it. Reload.
  • "Only owners and admins can…" — ask an owner, or ask for a role with Approve spend.
