Madder reads the page for its title, description, images and price, and the agent reads those facts when it drafts a campaign for that product.
Before you start#
- A member who can draft campaigns. Everyone else sees the product list read-only.
- The link people land on: a website, a landing page, an App Store or Play Store listing. It must be reachable over
https.
1. Open Settings › Products#
Open Settings from the rail and pick Products in the workspace section. Each product shows its first image, name, host, goal, price and a scan line: Scanned 3m ago, Scanning…, Scan failed — reason, or Not scanned.
2. Add a product#
Press Add product. Paste the link and, if you like, a name — leave the name empty and Madder takes the page's title. Press Save. The row appears as Scanning… and fills in on its own within about a minute; the list checks for the result every few seconds and then stops.
If the link is already a product in this workspace, Madder says so instead of saving a second copy.
3. Edit, rescan, archive#
- Edit opens the product in place: name, link, goal (what counts as a win), tracking, the default ad account, and Notes for the agent — your own words, up to 2,000 characters, which the agent reads when it drafts for this product. Changing the link starts a new scan. If someone else saved the same product while you were editing, Madder reloads it and your edits are not written over theirs.
- Rescan reads the page again — after a redesign, a new price, new images.
- Archive hides the product from the agent and from every brief; Restore brings it back. Nothing is deleted.
4. Pick the product in a brief#
On the home screen the brief now starts with Product. Pick one and its link, goal and tracking fill the fields; change any of them for this campaign only. Pick + New product… to type a new link — it is saved as a product when you press Build my campaign →, and its scan runs in the background while the campaign is drafted.
The Campaigns page's + New campaign has the same Product field, then Runs on — the connected ad account the campaign is drafted into. A platform with no connected account shows Connect →, which opens Sources.
What the agent sees#
The agent sees your active products as data: name, link, goal, price and your notes. It reads them; it cannot add or change a product. A draft row on the Campaigns page shows the product's name under the campaign name once the draft is tied to one.
If it doesn't work#
- "That doesn't look like a website or app link" — use
yourapp.comorhttps://yourapp.com. Plainhttp://links are not accepted. - "That page is already a product in this workspace" — pick it from the list instead. If it is archived, press Restore first. While editing, "That link already belongs to another product" means the same: the other product keeps the link, your edits stay on screen.
- Saved — the scan couldn't start — the product is there; press Rescan to read the page.
- Scan failed — the page could not be read — the page timed out, answered with an error, or points at a private address. Check the link opens in a browser, then press Rescan. A failed scan does not block a campaign; the agent works from the link and your notes.
- Still scanning — reload to check — the scan is taking longer than a minute. Reload the page; the row updates when the scan is done.
- Read-only for your role — ask someone who can draft campaigns to add or change products, or ask an owner to give your role Draft campaigns.
- "This product changed elsewhere" — another member saved it first. Madder shows their version; make your change again.
