Install Meta and Google tracking on Wix

On Wix, connect the pixel Madder created through Marketing Integrations (Meta Pixel & CAPI), not Custom code, and let Wix send form submissions as leads.

Checked 6 Sep 2026wix

On Wix, connect the pixel Madder created through Marketing Integrations → Meta Pixel & CAPI, not through Custom code, and let Wix report form submissions. About 10 minutes.

Madder already created the Meta pixel in your connected ad account. Ignore the code snippet from step 2 of the tracking wizard: Wix states that Meta pixels pasted as custom code do not work and are unsupported. The integration installs the same pixel and adds the Conversions API.

Before you start#

  • A Premium plan and a connected domain (the integration is locked without both).
  • The domain verified in Meta Business settings: Verify your domain.
  • Admin on the Meta Business portfolio that owns the connected ad account.

1. Connect the pixel through Marketing Integrations#

Paths as of September 2026. In your site's dashboard open Marketing Integrations. Under Meta Pixel & CAPI click Connect, then Connect to Facebook. Sign in, pick the Business portfolio, click Next through the permission screens for Wix Marketing Tools, and Done. When asked which pixel to use, pick the one whose ID matches step 1 of Madder's wizard, not a new one.

Do not also paste the snippet under Settings → Custom Code: Wix says the result is tracking conflicts and duplicate events.

2. Fire the Lead event#

Wix's integration already tracks form submissions; you set the form to land on a thank-you page so the event is unambiguous:

  1. In the Editor select your Wix Form, open its settings, and under the after-submit options choose to redirect to a page (or link) instead of showing a success message. Pick your thank-you page.
  2. Publish.

If your form comes from a third-party app embedded in an HTML element, Wix cannot see the submission. Either switch to Wix Forms or use Google Tag Manager, connected through Marketing Integrations → Google Tag Manager, with a trigger on the thank-you page.

3. The Google tag#

Also through Marketing Integrations: connect Google Ads (or Google Tag Manager if you use one) rather than pasting the tag. Which tag and which conversion action: Google tag and conversion tracking.

4. Verify#

  1. Install the Meta Pixel Helper Chrome extension (now listed as Meta Ads Data Advisor). Open the published site, accept the cookie banner if there is one: one pixel, status Active, your ID.
  2. In Meta Events Manager: Data sources → your pixel → Test events, enter your URL, submit the form, confirm PageView and Lead appear within about 30 seconds.
  3. In Madder's wizard click I've installed it.

If it doesn't work#

  • Connect is greyed out — no Premium plan, or the domain is not connected yet.
  • No events at all — the site was not published after connecting; or an ad blocker is on in your test browser.
  • Pixel loads only sometimes — your cookie banner delays it until marketing consent; test after accepting.
  • Two pixels in Pixel Helper — one from Marketing Integrations and one from Custom Code. Delete the custom code entry.
  • Lead missing — the form is not a Wix Form (third-party embed), or the pixel picked during connection is not Madder's; reconnect and choose the right ID.
  • Wrong events after December 2025 — Wix added frontend security rules that block some older snippets; that is another reason to use the integration, not custom code.
