Create a TikTok ad account

Create a TikTok ad account inside a Business Center, pass TikTok's account review, find the advertiser ID and add the people who will work in it.

Checked 6 Sep 2026

About 20 minutes plus review.

Madder does not create TikTok ad accounts. Today you register the account in Madder by its advertiser ID (Home → Sources → Connect an ad account → TikTok → Add manually → Register account); one-click connect for TikTok follows, then drafting and applying campaigns. Drafts are created paused; nothing spends without your approval.

Before you start#

  • A work email and your company's legal name as it appears on invoices.
  • The currency and time zone you report in: TikTok states you "won't be able to edit the timezone, region, business name, and currency of your ad account once it's been created".
  • A working website; the review checks it.

1. Choose Business Center over a bare Ads Manager sign-up#

Signing up at ads.tiktok.com gives one ad account tied to one login. A Business Center at business.tiktok.com is a workspace that owns ad accounts, pixels and people and lets you grant a tool or an agency access without sharing a password. Use Business Center; Madder's connect flow will ask for it.

2. Create the Business Center#

Go to business.tiktok.com, click Sign up, verify your email, choose I am an advertiser, enter the country and the "full legal name of your company", check time zone and currency and click Create. TikTok warns "you may not be able to change your business information later". Turn on 2-step verification.

3. Create the ad account#

In Business Center (as of September 2026) click Accounts, open Advertiser accounts under All accounts, click Add advertiser account, choose Create New, then Next. Fill in the account name, time zone, currency and contact details, then Confirm. TikTok may prompt you to link a TikTok account and confirm payment settings.

4. Pass account review#

New ad accounts are reviewed automatically; TikTok says "most account reviews take less than 24 hours". You get an email, and the status shows under Advertiser accounts (In review, Approved, Not approved). If not approved, re-enter the website URL and business details and click Request review.

5. Find the advertiser ID and register it in Madder#

The advertiser ID is a long number (about 19 digits), listed against the account under Accounts → Advertiser accounts in Business Center and, as of September 2026, in the account switcher at the top right of Ads Manager. In Madder open Home → Sources → Connect an ad account → TikTok → Add manually, paste it into Account id, add a Name, the same Currency and Timezone, and click Register account.

6. Add members#

In Business Center click Users → Members → Add Members, enter the email, choose Admin or Standard, optionally add Finance manager or Financial analyst, click Next, pick the ad account under Grant access and Save. Standard members see only what you assign. The invitee accepts from the email.

If it doesn't work#

  • "Not approved" — usually an unreachable website, a legal name that does not match the site, or missing tax details. Fix, then Request review; disputes go through a TikTok Business Support ticket within three working days.
  • Cannot create an ad account — a Creator Agency Business Center; create a standard one.
  • Wrong currency or time zone — create a new ad account.
  • No invite arrived — in Users, click the email, Resend request.
  • Madder rejects the id — you pasted the Business Center ID or a pixel ID.
