The agent is a card in the bottom-right corner of every screen; open it with ⌘K, dock it, keep chats and run a skill with /.

Before you start#

  • A Madder workspace. The widget is on every screen once you are signed in.

1. Open it#

The living disc in the bottom-right corner is the agent. Click it, or press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows), and the card opens with the cursor in the box: Ask Madder to do anything… Type a question and press Enter; the reply lands in the same card. On a phone it fills the screen.

2. Float, dock or minimise#

Drag the card by its header; resize it from its top-left corner. Dock (or Ctrl \\) pins it to the right edge as a full-height panel and the page moves over. Drag that panel's left edge to widen it, or focus the edge and use the arrow keys (Home and End for the ends); it stays between 320px and half your screen. Every size is remembered. Minimise (or Esc on an empty box) folds it back to the disc; a dot there means an answer arrived while it was folded.

3. Keep chats#

Every conversation is a chat, and it is saved: reload the page or open Madder on another device and the thread is there. It names itself after the first reply. To rename it, press the pencil beside it — the title becomes a box; Enter saves, Esc leaves it alone, an empty name keeps the old one. The name is also a menu: switch to an earlier chat, search them all, rename or archive one you are not reading. New chat (or Ctrl Shift ;) starts a fresh thread; nothing exists until you send the first message. Search messages (Ctrl F) finds a line in the chat you are reading.

4. Run a skill with /#

Type / at the start of the box, or press Skills — the open book — in the header. /audit asks which period (7, 14 or 30 days) and audits the accounts. /help plus a word searches the guides. /memory shows what the agent remembers. /budget shows today's asks and creative spend. /digest opens Settings › Agent. Below those are your playbooks, or one line saying you have none yet; picking one starts the message. The last row, Connected tools — coming soon, is greyed out.

5. Hand it a file#

+ next to the box offers Attach files and Skills. You can also drop a file anywhere on the page, or copy a screenshot and press ⌘V anywhere in the open card — no need to click the box first. Each image becomes a chip, removed with its ×; six at a time. Pasted words land in the box as words. Madder does not read an attachment yet, and says so when you send. There is no @ picker — name the product or campaign in plain words.

6. Act on what it shows you#

Some replies carry a card. A proposal card has the same Approve and Dismiss as Needs your call on home. A guide card opens in the help drawer. An agent-settings card shows the value and a Propose change button. While the agent works, a line under your question names the step, and Stop (or Esc) ends the run.

If it doesn't work#

  • ⌘K does nothing — a dialog is open on the page. Close it first; the shortcut yields to what is on screen.
  • The card is gone — it is minimised to the disc. Press ⌘K or click it.
  • The setup checklist vanished — opening the agent folds it to its Setup pill. Click the pill.
  • A chat is missing — it was archived. Archived chats are not listed yet.
  • "Out of asks for now" — the daily or hourly limit is spent; the line says when it resets. See Budgets and the most you pay per win.
  • A proposal card says it is no longer pending — it was approved or dismissed elsewhere; Needs your call on home shows what is still open.
