The owner-only reset empties the workspace so you can walk onboarding again from a genuinely blank account — products, creatives, chats, the agent's memory, playbooks, digests, invitations, sources and the approval queue are deleted, not hidden. It moves no money and keeps run history, members and settings. Under a minute.
Before you start#
- You must be the workspace owner. Admins see Owner only in the danger zone.
- As of September 2026 the reset is available on dev/staging and disabled in production. On a production workspace the button is present but disabled; write to hello@madder.ai if you need a reset there.
1. Open the danger zone#
Settings → Danger zone. The card Reset workspace reads: empties the workspace so you can walk onboarding again from zero. Moves no money. This can't be undone.
2. Confirm#
Press Reset this workspace. In the dialog Reset workspace?, type RESET and press Reset workspace. The toast names what went: products, creatives, chats, playbooks, digests, invitations, sources and proposals, each with its count.
What it clears#
- Every product, with the creatives attached to it and the image files behind them. There is no Restore: the rows are gone and Settings › Products is empty.
- Every source. The connection and the ad account row are both removed, so Sources starts blank; the tokens are no longer used.
- Every proposal, with its intents and approvals. Nothing waits in Needs your call, and drafts disappear from the Campaigns page.
- Every chat with the agent, and everything the agent learned: its memory, its playbooks, its scheduled digests.
- Pending invitations.
- Metrics and campaign structure pulled back from the platforms.
- The onboarding checklist reopens from the first step.
What it keeps#
- Members, roles and their assignments.
- Workspace name, currency and timezone.
- Run history: the agent's journal is an append-only ledger and is never rewritten by a reset. It ages out on its own after 30 days. If a run in that ledger points at a proposal or an ad account, that one row is kept — cancelled, disconnected — instead of deleted, and the toast says how many.
- Everything on the platforms. A reset does not pause, delete or change a campaign on Meta, Google or TikTok. A campaign you approved keeps running there until you pause it on the platform or reconnect and pause it through Madder.
If it doesn't work#
- The button is disabled — you are on production, where the reset is off. Disconnect sources one by one under Sources instead; that stops Madder just as completely.
- "Owner only" — ask the owner.
- Campaigns still spending after a reset — expected; see "What it keeps". Pause them on the platform.
